Northwest
of Reno you will find Pershing County with its many
ghost towns. Interstate 80 passes by Rye Patch
Reservoir which offers a striking patch of blue amid
the brown desert hues. Heading west over the Seven
Throughs Range, you descend onto the Lava Beds at the
edge of the Black Rock Desert. Although only a few
motion pictures have been filmed in this county, they
have made excellent use of the varied landscape.
